My appointment with susannah has gone very very well, I have now been off the weed habit for over a month now, she has taken away my want to smoke it and some of the issues that go with it when you stop smoking it, I cannot thank this lady enough for giving me a new start, the voice notes that you will get after your appointment help so much, I listen to them every night before bed, now I only need to listen to them every now and then, not once have I wanted to go and get some (w) and it is all down to the appointment I had with susannah, highly recommend if you have the problem that I had, tried to give up myself but always gave in to it, I have a new life now and getting a lot done, sleeping is good and have saved a lot of money not smoking it, thinking more clearly now too, I’m so please as it’s been a habit of mine for many many years, I couldn’t have done this without her help and I’m so grateful, she is there if you need extra help too xPosted on Google![]()

I've been working with Susannah for several months to work on my insomnia issues. After a few sessions we discovered I was also mildly depressed and we have been working together to try and fix the issues I was experiencing. In just 6 weeks I've gone from a fragment of myself to an inspired, vibrant person again and I'm so thrilled with the results. Susannah's hypnotherapy sessions are beautiful and she really works with you to become better. Highly recommend her to anyone!Posted on Google![]()

Highly recommended. It is very easy to communicate with Susannah and Susannah transmits positive vibes. Clearly Susannah focus is the well being of her patients. I gave up vaping in one session, no craving and no need to substitute by something else. This helps me to open a new chapter in my life without the servitude of smoking/vaping. 100% success as far as I am concerned. Would turn to Susannah again for what ever my needs are in the future.Posted on Google![]()

I have been on quite the journey with Susannah. For so many years so many aspects of my life seemed to be causing me anxiety and anger, making me too exhausted to complete simple, everyday tasks, that seemed straightforward to other people. I couldn’t imagine things would improve without months of therapy at least. Working with Susannah however made me understand that it was my perception of my life rather than the events of my life that needed addressing, and this made finding solutions so much more manageable. Right from the first session things started to improve, and as it turned out, in total I needed only five sessions. Susannah has a gift for explaining complex functions of the brain in a super-accessible way, so that I now both understand what was going wrong and have developed strategies to support me in preventing the build-up of stress and anxiety in the future. I cannot think of an area of my life that has not been positively impacted by my time with Susannah and cannot recommend her highly enough.Posted on Google![]()

I would like to start my review with thanking Susannah. I was sceptical, but went in with an open mind. I had one session of hypnosis to help quit smoking. I was a person that could stop and start but I wanted to quit for good. My session was at the beginning of Feb and so far so good. I feel a lot better health wise also helped motivate me to consistently go to the gym and generally take better care of myself. If your thinking about doing it, go for it, best decision I've made.Posted on Google![]()

I got in touch with Susannah after yet another flight that made me feel sick and traumatised. Living overseas is great until you begin to have a fear or flying which impacts your ability to travel with your husband and also for work. Since spending time with Susannah i have been able to fly a total of 4 times in the last 2 weeks and havent gotten upset or fearful like i used too once - im now able to fly and the worst thing that happens is i get bored!! :) I cant thank Susannah enough for helping me with this fear! Also, and i think no coincidence, i am far calmer in my day to day life. I absolutely never thought id be able to get off of a plane and go in to the office, instead of needing a sleep and a drink to get through it!!! Absolutely changed my life - long may it continue.Posted on Google![]()

I'm a 33yo woman. I've struggled most of my life with low mood/depression and anxiety. I came to Susannah looking for help in changing my unhealthy habits and mindset. I can't even tell you exactly what has changed since my 3 hypnotherapy sessions, only that something in me has shifted, I feel better, more content, positive and lighter and I'm making better choices. After the first session it felt like something in my brain moved, for the better. I was really sceptical going in to this, especially as the sessions were online, but it worked. Would definitely recommend Susannah, the sessions aren't cheap but was worth every penny to me.Posted on Google![]()

Can’t recommend Susannah enough! 3 months down and I’ve not touched a vape Or even thought about it. I will be honest, I was sceptical about hypno previously but it’s been such a great experience. My life has changed so positively since that session.Posted on Google![]()

I recently had 3 sessions of hypnotherapy with Susannah to help with a fear of flying that had been causing me anxiety, and tainting my experience of travel and holidays for many years. This was my first experience of hypnotherapy, and it was an extremely positive and beneficial one, as I have since been on multiple flights without that old anxiety, and free of the accompanying tension and fear. This is entirely down to Susannah's calming, patient manner and extremely insightful techniques. I can't recommend her services highly enough. Who does hypnotherapy for lawyers help?
Hypnotherapy for lawyers can help anyone working in law, from law students and trainees to partners and KCs. It suits solicitors, barristers, chartered legal executives, paralegals and in-house lawyers in every area of practice. It can help whether you work in a City firm, a high street practice, chambers or from home.
Why is working in law so stressful?
Working in law is stressful because of long hours, high stakes and constant pressure to be available to clients. Hours targets, tight deadlines and the fear of making a mistake can keep you on edge all week. Research by the charity LawCare found that most legal professionals regularly work beyond their contracted hours.
How can I cope with billable hours targets?
You can cope with billable hours targets by planning your week, protecting time for focused work and keeping the target in perspective. Recording your time in six-minute units can make you feel constantly measured, which fuels stress and procrastination. Hypnotherapy can help you stay calm and focused, so the hours come from steady, productive work.
How can I switch off from work as a lawyer?
You can switch off from work by creating a clear end to your day and giving your mind something else to focus on. Checking emails late at night keeps your stress response switched on, so it's harder to rest. Hypnotherapy and self-hypnosis can help you leave work at work, so your evenings and weekends are yours again.
Can hypnotherapy help lawyers sleep better?
Yes, hypnotherapy can help you sleep better, even during a trial, a deal or a busy month. Many lawyers lie awake drafting in their heads or going over what they said in court. The personalised recording can help you relax at bedtime, and REM sleep, the dreaming stage of sleep, helps you process the day's stress.
Why do so many lawyers struggle with perfectionism?
Many lawyers struggle with perfectionism because their training rewards spotting every risk and getting every detail right. That attention to detail helps your clients, but it can turn into checking and re-checking, late nights and harsh self-criticism. Hypnotherapy can help you keep high standards while feeling calmer and kinder to yourself.
Can hypnotherapy help with burnout in law?
Yes, hypnotherapy can help if you feel exhausted and detached, or dread going to work, which are common signs of burnout. LawCare's research found burnout was highest among lawyers aged 26 to 35, when many are qualifying and building their careers. Hypnotherapy can help lower your stress and improve your sleep, so you have the energy to enjoy your work again.
How can I deal with difficult clients?
You can deal with difficult clients more calmly by setting clear boundaries and staying focused on what you can control. Demanding, angry or distressed clients can follow you home, especially when they expect replies at all hours. Hypnotherapy can help you stay calm in tense conversations and let go of the stress afterwards.
Can hypnotherapy help with procrastination at work?
Yes, hypnotherapy can help if you put off drafting, difficult calls or recording your time. Procrastination is often driven by perfectionism or anxiety, so tasks feel bigger the longer you leave them. Hypnotherapy can help calm that anxiety, so starting feels easier and your work flows more steadily.
Can hypnotherapy help lawyers with anxiety?
Yes, hypnotherapy can help lawyers with anxiety, whether it shows up before court, in client meetings or at 3am. Anxiety can set off your body's stress response even when there is no immediate danger. Hypnotherapy can help calm that response, so you can think clearly and feel more in control.
Can hypnotherapy help with nerves before court?
Yes, hypnotherapy can help you feel calm and composed before a hearing or trial. Court nerves can show up as a racing heart, a dry mouth or a mind full of what-ifs, even for experienced advocates. Anchoring, breathing techniques and mental rehearsal, where helpful, can help you walk into court feeling prepared and steady.
Can hypnotherapy help with negotiations?
Yes, hypnotherapy can help you stay calm and clear-headed in negotiations, so you read the room and hold your position. Long negotiations, all-night drafting sessions and pressure from your client can wear down even experienced dealmakers. Anchoring and self-hypnosis can help you reset between sessions and keep your judgement clear.
Can hypnotherapy help with pitching and business development?
Yes, hypnotherapy can help you feel confident pitching for work, networking and building client relationships. Many lawyers find business development uncomfortable, especially when it feels like selling. Hypnotherapy and mindset coaching can help you approach it with confidence and be yourself with clients.
Can hypnotherapy help solicitors?
Yes, hypnotherapy can help solicitors with stress, sleep and confidence, whether you work in a large firm, a high street practice or in-house. Chargeable hours, client demands and supervising others can all build up over time. Hypnotherapy and mindset coaching can help you stay calm, work efficiently and switch off in the evenings.
Can hypnotherapy help barristers?
Yes, hypnotherapy can help barristers with court nerves, heavy workloads and the pressure of self-employment. The Bar Council's Wellbeing at the Bar report 2025 found that many barristers struggle to manage their workloads. Hypnotherapy can help you stay calm on your feet, handle late briefs and switch off between cases.

What is solution-focused hypnotherapy, and how can it help?
Solution-focused hypnotherapy combines a forward-looking conversation about what you want with hypnosis to calm your mind. It's based on how the brain works under stress, and it suits analytical people who want practical results. For lawyers, it means building on what's already working, one small step at a time.
What is mindset coaching, and how can it help?
Mindset coaching helps you get clear on what you want and the thinking that helps or holds you back. Together, we set clear goals, spot the habits that drain you, like answering emails at midnight, and plan practical steps. Combined with hypnosis, coaching helps new habits feel natural, so they last.
What is positive suggestion, and how can it help?
Positive suggestion is the use of clear, encouraging statements in hypnosis, when your mind is relaxed and open to change. For a lawyer, that might be suggestions for calm in court, focus on complex drafting or switching off at home. Repeated on the personalised recording, these suggestions can help new responses feel natural.
What is ego strengthening, and how can it help?
Ego strengthening is a set of suggestions that build self-belief and remind you of your strengths and past successes. It's useful after a lost case, a deal falling through or a tough appraisal, when confidence takes a knock. It helps you feel steady and resilient, so one setback stays in proportion.
What is anchoring, and how can it help?
Anchoring links a calm, confident feeling to a small physical cue, like pressing your thumb and finger together. We create your anchor in hypnosis, and you can use it discreetly before you stand up in court or join a difficult call. Over time, the cue brings back that calm, focused state quickly.
What is the rewind technique, and how can it help?
The rewind technique is a gentle way of taking the emotional charge out of a difficult memory, while you're relaxed in hypnosis. You watch the memory like a film, then run it backwards, so it loses its power. It can help after a bruising hearing, a complaint or a distressing case that keeps replaying in your head.
What is reframing, and how can it help?
Reframing is looking at a situation in a new way, so it feels more manageable. A lost case can become useful experience, and nerves before court can become energy and focus. In hypnosis, the new view can feel more natural, so it sticks.
What is EFT, and how can it help?
EFT, or Emotional Freedom Techniques, involves tapping on points on your face, upper body and hands while you focus on a feeling. It's a quick way to calm down before a hearing or after a difficult call, ideally somewhere private. You can do it in a few minutes, in a robing room, a meeting room or at home.
What breathing technique can I use before court?
A useful technique is to breathe out for longer than you breathe in, which helps calm your stress response. You can do it discreetly outside court, in a meeting or on a call. I teach you this alongside anchoring, so you have quick tools for the moments that count.
What is self-hypnosis, and how can it help?
Self-hypnosis is a skill I teach you, so you can relax and refocus your mind on your own. You can practise while resting safely, before a hearing or at bedtime after a long day. With practice, it takes a few minutes.
What is mental rehearsal, and how can it help?
Mental rehearsal is picturing yourself performing well, in detail, while you're relaxed in hypnosis. Athletes use it before big events, and it can help you prepare for a trial, a pitch or a difficult negotiation. Where helpful, we rehearse the moments that worry you, so on the day they feel familiar.
Why combine coaching with hypnosis?
Combining coaching with hypnosis works on two levels: the plan you make consciously, and the subconscious habits that get in the way. Many lawyers know exactly what they should do, yet stress and old habits throw them off course. Hypnosis helps the plan you make in coaching feel natural, so it holds under pressure.
What happens in a hypnotherapy and coaching session?
Each session combines a solution-focused coaching conversation with time in hypnosis, while you sit back with your eyes closed. Your first session is the initial consultation, which includes hypnosis, and later sessions start with what's gone well since we last met. After each session, you have the personalised recording to listen to at home.

What would you like to know about hypnotherapy for lawyers?
Pressure, confidence and life outside work
You dread Sunday evenings because your mind starts preparing for the week ahead, and your stress response kicks in early. Many lawyers spend Sunday night checking emails or going over Monday's hearing or deadline. Hypnotherapy can help you stay calm and present at the weekend, so Monday feels manageable.
You can ease the worry about mistakes by calming your stress response and trusting the care you already take. Fear of a complaint or a negligence claim can make you double-check everything and second-guess your decisions. Hypnotherapy can help you think clearly and make decisions with confidence.
Yes, hypnotherapy can help if you feel like an imposter, despite your qualifications and experience. It's common among trainees, newly qualified solicitors and new partners, and among people who are the first in their family to work in law. Ego strengthening in hypnosis can help you recognise your strengths and feel you belong.
Yes, hypnotherapy can help if difficult cases stay with you after work. Family, criminal, personal injury and immigration lawyers often deal with distressing evidence and clients in crisis. The rewind technique and self-hypnosis can help you process what you've heard and switch off when you get home.
Yes, hypnotherapy can help you stay calm and confident through the partnership process. Building a business case, winning work and presenting to the partnership can test even very capable lawyers. Mindset coaching can help you plan your next steps, and hypnosis can help you present yourself with confidence.
You can feel more confident at work by recognising your strengths and calming the nerves that make you hold back. Many lawyers are confident on paper, yet hesitate to speak up in meetings or challenge a senior colleague. Hypnotherapy and ego strengthening can help you trust your judgement and speak with authority.
Yes, hypnotherapy and mindset coaching can help you set boundaries and protect time for the people and things you enjoy. Long hours and client demands can squeeze out family time, exercise and sleep. Coaching helps you plan realistic changes, and hypnosis helps you stick to them under pressure.
You can handle tough feedback by separating comments on your work from how you see yourself. Red pen on a draft or a curt email from a partner can replay in your head for days. Hypnotherapy and reframing can help you take what's useful from feedback and let go of the rest.
Court, negotiations and qualifying
You can feel more confident on your feet by calming your nerves before you stand up and trusting your preparation. Many advocates find the first few minutes the hardest, until they settle into their argument. Mental rehearsal in hypnosis, where helpful, can help those first minutes feel familiar, so you speak clearly and with authority.
If your mind goes blank, pause, breathe out slowly and look at your notes, which gives your thinking brain time to catch up. A blank happens when stress briefly takes over from the calm, rational part of your brain. Hypnotherapy can help lower your everyday stress, so your mind stays clear under pressure.
You can stay calm in front of a difficult judge by focusing on your argument and treating interruptions as part of the job. A tough bench or a hostile line of questioning can knock your confidence mid-flow. Hypnotherapy and anchoring can help you stay composed and respond with confidence.
Yes, hypnotherapy can help you stay calm, focused and quick-thinking during cross-examination. Cross-examining a witness takes intense focus, as you listen, adapt and keep control of the questioning. Hypnotherapy and mental rehearsal, where helpful, can help you stay calm and adapt quickly to the answers you get.
Yes, hypnotherapy can help you speak up with confidence in meetings, calls and presentations. Many lawyers hold back because they worry about saying the wrong thing in front of partners or clients. Hypnotherapy can help you trust your knowledge and say what you think, clearly and calmly.
You can stay calm during a trial or a deal closing by protecting your sleep, taking short breaks and keeping perspective. Long days, late-night redlines and last-minute changes can leave you exhausted and on edge. Self-hypnosis and the personalised recording can help you recharge in short breaks and sleep well, even in the busiest weeks.
Yes, hypnotherapy can help you feel calm and focused before the SQE, the Solicitors Qualifying Examination, or Bar course exams. Exam nerves can make it harder to recall what you know, especially after months of revision. Self-hypnosis and mental rehearsal, where helpful, can help you revise steadily and stay calm in the exam room.
Yes, hypnotherapy can help you feel calm and confident in training contract, pupillage and job interviews. Assessment centres, written tests and panel interviews can feel high-stakes, especially after rejections. Anchoring and mental rehearsal, where helpful, can help you walk in feeling prepared and show what you can do.
Different roles and career stages in law
Yes, hypnotherapy can help trainees and NQs, newly qualified solicitors, with the pressure of proving themselves. Seat moves, long hours and the jump to qualification can bring self-doubt and sleepless nights. Hypnotherapy can help you feel confident, ask for help when you need it and enjoy the start of your career.
Yes, hypnotherapy can help pupils and junior barristers with the pressure of pupillage, tenancy decisions and early court appearances. Your first hearings, a busy diary of small cases and the wait for tenancy can all feel intense. Hypnotherapy can help you stay calm, build confidence on your feet and rest properly between cases.
Yes, hypnotherapy and mindset coaching can help partners and senior lawyers manage the pressure of leading teams and winning work. Billing, business development and responsibility for others' work can leave little room to switch off. Coaching can help you prioritise and delegate, and hypnosis can help you stay calm and sleep well.
Yes, hypnotherapy can help in-house lawyers with the pressure of advising the business, often with a small team. You may be juggling many areas of law at once, with colleagues expecting quick answers. Hypnotherapy can help you stay calm, prioritise clearly and speak up with confidence in the boardroom.
Yes, hypnotherapy can help chartered legal executives, paralegals and legal support staff with stress, confidence and sleep. Heavy caseloads, tight deadlines and studying for qualifications alongside work can take their toll. Hypnotherapy can help you stay calm, focused and confident in your work.
Yes, hypnotherapy can help law students with exam nerves, applications and the pressure of competing for training contracts and pupillage. Rejections, assessment centres and juggling study with work experience can knock your confidence. Hypnotherapy can help you stay calm, build self-belief and keep going.
Yes, hypnotherapy can help you feel confident returning to work after parental leave or a career break. Many lawyers worry about catching up, being taken seriously and balancing work with family. Hypnotherapy and mindset coaching can help you set clear priorities and settle back in calmly.
Yes, mindset coaching and hypnotherapy can help you think clearly about whether to stay in law, change direction or leave. Stress and exhaustion can make it hard to tell whether you need a new job or a new career. Coaching helps you weigh up your options, and hypnosis helps you feel calm and confident about your decision.
Hypnosis, appointments and choosing a practitioner
The miracle question is a coaching tool that asks you to imagine waking up tomorrow with the problem solved. You describe what you'd notice first, like leaving the office on time or sleeping through the night. Those details become clear, practical aims for our sessions.
Scaling is a coaching tool where you rate where you are now from 0 to 10, such as how calm you feel at work. We then look at what would move you one point higher, which keeps progress practical. It's a quick way to track change from session to session.
Hypnotherapy for lawyers works by lowering your stress, so the calm, clear-thinking part of your brain stays in charge. In hypnosis, we work on the negative stories, thoughts and beliefs at the root of the problem, like believing you must be perfect. Then, where helpful, you mentally rehearse staying calm in court, sleeping well and switching off at the end of the day.
Stress makes it harder to think clearly because it can interfere with attention, working memory and recalling what you know. That's why a straightforward question from a judge or a client can suddenly feel hard to answer. Hypnotherapy can help lower your stress, so you feel calmer and better able to concentrate.
The stress bucket is a way of picturing how stress builds up over time. Every late night, tense call and looming deadline adds to it, while sleep, rest and support help you recover. We use it as a simple way to talk about what is adding to your stress and how hypnotherapy can help you feel calmer.
The personalised recording is the audio of your hypnosis session, for you to listen to at home between sessions. It's ideal at bedtime, to help you leave the day behind. Listen while resting safely, with your attention free from driving or other tasks. Listening regularly helps reinforce the positive changes we make together.
Yes, you stay in control throughout hypnosis, aware of what's happening and able to open your eyes at any time. Hypnosis is a natural, focused state, a bit like being absorbed in a good book. Most people find it very relaxing, and you come out feeling refreshed and alert.
It's both: practical, goal-focused coaching combined with clinical hypnotherapy. We focus on what you want and how to get there, using hypnosis to make the changes feel natural. It suits busy people who want practical, forward-looking help.
Hypnotherapy for lawyers is private and discreet, with confidentiality explained when we begin. I offer a service arranged directly with me, and I'm registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, number ZB654528. My privacy policy explains how I look after your information.
Yes, you can have hypnotherapy online by secure, encrypted Zoom, which can make it easier to fit around court dates and client deadlines. You can join from home, chambers or a private meeting room, wherever you can talk freely. My online hypnotherapy page has more detail.
The number of sessions varies from person to person, depending on what you'd like to work on. We talk it through at your initial consultation, so you know what to expect.

Research suggests stress and burnout are widespread in the legal profession. LawCare's Life in the Law 2025 research found poor mental wellbeing was common, with the highest burnout among lawyers aged 26 to 35. The Bar Council's Wellbeing at the Bar report 2025 found improvements, but many barristers still struggle with their workloads.
Research suggests hypnosis can help with stress, anxiety and sleep. A 2019 review of studies found hypnosis helped reduce anxiety, and a 2020 trial found group hypnosis, with recordings for home, helped reduce stress. A 2014 study in the journal Sleep found a hypnosis recording increased deep sleep during a nap in women who respond well to hypnosis.

Private appointments, workplace worries and credentials
Hypnosis can help you switch off when you keep checking work emails at night, even after you've finished for the day. We look at what makes it hard to leave the inbox alone, whether that's worry about missing something, client expectations or the need to feel on top of everything. Coaching helps you agree practical boundaries, and hypnosis supports feeling comfortable with them.
I can help you work on the panic that comes when a partner puts you on the spot, even when you know your subject. We work on the stress response and self-doubt that make it harder to answer clearly. Hypnosis, anchoring and breathing techniques can help you feel steadier in those conversations.
You can arrange appointments privately and directly with me. Contact me using your preferred email address or phone number, and we can discuss suitable times and whether you would prefer sessions in London or online via Zoom. We agree any contact with your employer or another professional with you first.
You can check my qualifications on my about page and verify my professional registrations through the CNHC and my General Hypnotherapy Register profile. My CNHC registration number is CNHC10269 and my GHR registration number is 3034.
